Incident : Bring your kids to work day
People are excited about getting their kids to work. Friday wont be working. Should I get my spouse as well, I cant take my kid alone.
Excitement is in the air. I can hear it. People are looking at the bright posters stuck on the doors of each floor, lifts.
With the thought if I should get Samjana to office, I went to the washroom and then pantry and finally with a glass of water headed to my desk.
I saw this cleaning guy wipe around the poster on the main door. I don't know if he was wondering the same thing as I was. But the way he wiped around it, felt we were in sync. His feelings a little more weird.
Would they "the employees" also be allowed to get their kids to work. Felt like asking the HR, and then if not maybe suggesting them. But something refrained me.
Maybe the something was, the cold response of the HR head when I head requested for a prayer room for those who pray in the parking.
It would be more important for those kids, not that I am differentiating.. finally they are all kids. And they don't differentiate. I had seen a video recently. https://youtu.be/PIqmZBVVH0c they dont. But we do. We might not let our kids play with their's.
I was thinking about what can be done for the "personal touch" people. They clean the washrooms we use. They get the glasses we carry to our desk and place it back at the right place. They clean our dustbins. Then a question craved in my mind. What will they do then? If we start doing our job ourselves, would it mean taking away their's? Yes, maybe we take that away and someday they sit next to us and do that pays more, has ease and comfort.
There would be finally no classification, which employee to satisfy and who doesn't count. The ones who gets mails and ones who don't. And maybe all the kids could play together, watch the magic show, relish food in the same plate and be classification free.
